Today is Nick’s Birthday!  He is doing well at City of Hope right now and the family thanks all of your for your prayers and support!

Friday night at 7PM Fr Minh will be celebrating a healing Mass at San
Antonio Church on Santa Ana Canyon in Anaheim Hills. He was with Nicholas in the hospital
today and has asked us to come to the Mass with our support group. We
would be honored if you guys can attend and bring along anyone who would
like to participate in prayers for Nicholas.

Nick had an exciting week.   He received his last chemo  for this phase of the treatment, got his picc line removed from his arm, and swam a few laps in the pool.

It was a beautiful thing to witness.

Nick went to church for the first time this year and he walked in and out of the building on his own!! He is very grateful for all of the prayers of love and support. He is working hard with physical therapy as he slowly gains back weight, strength , and balance. His cancer treatment is being transferred to The City of Hope in Duarte, Ca. He will be having vitrectomy surgery this month to restore the vision lost while in the hospital. We are still seeking additional information on the hearing loss as we patiently wait and pray for recovery.  Please continue to pray and send words of encouragement as we are thankful for the tremendous progress thus far.

The birthday party was a smashing success.  Nick’s family wants to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped and was able to attend because the happiness on Nick’s face tells the story of how happy this day was for him and everyone who was able to share in it.  Also a HUGE thank you to Toni Cook for allowing us to descend on her front lawn and for making everything so beautiful with all of her many helpers.  It was a beautiful day of wonderful people all coming together for the singular reason to celebrate Nick and his recovery and his birthday.  You could really feel the “Love in the Air” that day!   Click here to view photos from the day!

LIVESTRONG Action just launched I RIDE FOR LIVESTRONG, a virtual version of the Tour of California. The Tour is the biggest cycling event in the United States, and Lance Armstrong and Team RadioShack are riding in it later this week. They’re dedicating their ride to survivors and caregivers and raising awareness about the worldwide fight against cancer.

I just dedicated my ride, but I need your help – cheer me on! The more cheers I get, the closer I get to winning the race and getting Lance to ride for Nicholas Reed in the Tour de France!

Earlier this week RadioShack donated $75,000 to LIVESTRONG because 10,000 people joined this ride. Now, if we get 100,000 people to cheer, RadioShack will up the ante and give an additional $25,000 to LIVESTRONG.
